Challenge of the Position

• Work in the unknown: Build something that has never been done before in the Brazilian legal market, with strong domain specialization.
• Solve real problems: Put the legal practitioner at the center, validate hypotheses, and deliver solutions that connect with the complete online and offline journey.
• Create long-lasting differentiators: Develop capabilities and integrations that generic AIs cannot replicate.
• Act in high ambiguity: Transform open problems into scalable and robust solutions, with high-impact technical and strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning and generative AI systems applied to the legal domain.
• Work end-to-end: from model discovery and experimentation to integration into large-scale products.
• Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability of production systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, product, design, legal experts) to translate complex problems into viable solutions.
• Investigate and apply advanced NLP, RAG, LLM fine-tuning, embeddings, and data pipelines.
• Create robust ML pipelines (training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and retraining).
• Influence architectural decisions and technical roadmaps, acting as a reference for other engineers and data scientists.

What We Look For

• Strong foundation in Computer Science (data structures, algorithms, distributed systems architecture).
• Machine Learning & NLP:
  • Experience with LLMs (fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG).
  • Knowledge in embeddings, document vectorization, semantic ranking, and search.
  • Evaluation of models and performance metrics.
• MLOps & Deploy:
  • Experience in deploying models (serving, APIs, latency optimization).
  • Tools like MLflow, Kubeflow, Vertex AI, or similar.
• Infrastructure & Engineering:
  • Cloud (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Continuous integration and deployment automation.
• Programming:
  • Proficiency in Python (libraries like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Transformers, LangChain).
  • Good software practices (testing, versioning, modularization).
