Farm Operations Mechanic

Operate in a safe and organized environment with limited supervision to diagnose and perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on potato and tillage equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Under limited supervision, work with the farm team to support the daily operations of a busy agricultural operation. A significant portion of the work will be performed in the field, utilizing a service rig to carry out repairs and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on potato and tillage equipment.
• Operate farm equipment as needed.
• Ensure a safe work environment and an organized shop. Focus on continuous improvement through a preventive maintenance schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.

Typical Education

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

Experience

• Knowledge of, and familiarity with, potato equipment preferred, as well as metal fabrication, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Prior experience and/or training in welding, particularly for machinery repairs or modifications.
• Prior experience in general farming operations.

Requirements

• Must have own hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and service manuals.
• Ability to understand and speak English.
• Valid driver's license.
