The Senior Engineer manages the engineering function as the senior representative on their project. The role provides leadership, technical expertise and coordination of engineering delivery while supporting the line manager. The Senior Engineer sets out the strategy for engineering control, quality and record keeping and ensures compliance with Sisk procedures. The role takes responsibility for Temporary Works Coordination and may manage lifting operations when required.

Provide engineering leadership across the project and act as the main technical reference point for the team
Supervise site and graduate engineers, ensuring best practice in setting out and dimensional control
Manage survey equipment and ensure as-built surveys are carried out to the required standard
Review and create inspection and test plans for packages such as concrete, drainage, steelwork and brickwork
Ensure compliance with project specifications including tolerances for vertical and horizontal structural elements
Manage the Sisk Non-Conformance process including issuing, monitoring and closing out NCRs
Review and develop method statements and risk assessments
Undertake the role of Temporary Works Coordinator when appointed, ensuring compliance with procedures
Undertake the role of Lifting Operations Appointed Person when appointed
Provide accurate and timely information to the planner to update project programmes
Lead and support technical, temporary works and lifting audits ensuring close out of actions
Deliver health, safety and environmental briefings including inductions, toolbox talks and crane team briefings
Support the design manager in design approvals, benchmarks and samples
Mentor and develop less experienced engineers
Draft, monitor and update short term programmes
Stop works where there is a risk to health and safety
Work collaboratively with Sisk colleagues and subcontractors to resolve issues and deliver quality outcomes
Strong knowledge of engineering principles and dimensional control
Competence in survey management and setting out control
Experience in quality management procedures and inspection processes
Good awareness of project specifications and construction tolerances
Experience in temporary works procedures and the role of TWC
Experience in lifting operations and ability to undertake the role of Appointed Person with support
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
Competence in digital project systems such as A-Site or Viewpoint for Projects
Experience in managing teams and mentoring junior engineers
Knowledge of health and safety legislation and risk management procedures
Exposure to a range of technical trades including piling, geotechnical, substructures, superstructures, facades and internal works
Working knowledge of BIM including integration of 3D scanning or point cloud survey data
