The Electrophysiology team in Italy is currently seeking for a Clinical Support Specialist, who will take charge of the responsibility of our products in Tuscany Region.
You will join the Sales Team and be prepared to successfully lead the deployment of our commercial strategy in your own territory, thanks to a best-in-class training program for new joiners that will include technical and commercial skills.
J&J MedTech Electrophysiology is currently looking for an AREA SALES MANAGER for the Electrophysiology (EP) business. This role reports into the General Manager EP Italy and is responsible for Southern Italy (Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicily, Molise).
Responsibilities:
- Territory Sales Management: own and achieve sales targets and commercial objectives for the Southern Italy region. Develop and execute territory commercial plans to grow market share and revenue.
- People Management:
- Tenders & Bids: prepare, manage and follow up tenders, bids and hospital procurement processes across the region; coordinate with legal, pricing and supply chain functions.
- Strategic Pricing & Profitability: support pricing decisions and local profitability initiatives to ensure achievement of margin targets and sustainable business growth.
- Key Customers & KOLs Management: build and maintain relationships with electrophysiologists, EP lab managers and clinical stakeholders; support KOL engagement, advisory boards and clinical initiatives.
- Clinical & Training Support: coordinate proctoring, in-lab support and product training in collaboration with clinical affairs and field clinical specialists; ensure clinical adoption and appropriate device usage.
- Sales Forecasting, Business Review & Reporting: deliver accurate sales and demand forecasts, run regular business reviews and provide timely reporting to the Business Unit Lead.
- Supply Chain & Inventory Forecasting: collaborate with marketing & supply chain to ensure product availability, optimize stock levels and manage CAPEX requests and approvals.
- Cycle Count Reconciliation & Inventory Control: ensure inventory accuracy, reconcile cycle counts, manage returns and monitor consumable stock.
- Compliance: ensure full adherence to all HCC J&J policies, local laws, procurement rules and ethical standards; maintain accurate documentation for audits and inspections.
Qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated sales and people management track record (experience managing a mix of direct and indirect sales channels is preferred).
- Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken).
- Willingness to travel frequently within the territory (minimum ~50% of the time).
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, clinical credibility and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred:
- Deep knowledge of electrophysiology clinical procedures and EP lab workflows (minimum 36–48 months of experience in electrophysiology or related cardiac device field).
- Established local KOL network in electrophysiology.
- Experience working with hospital procurement and tender processes in Italy.
- Experience supporting product launches, clinical evidence generation and post-market clinical activities.
- Prior experience with multi-disciplinary teams and cross-functional project leadership.
