What You'll Do

This is a vital role with significant growth prospect. You will have work to do from day one and you will be counted on to create opportunities that align with the overall organization goals. Some of this role key responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Lead/Participate the design, development, and implementation of complex machine learning solutions that drive business results.
  • Upholding ML Engineering best practices - enforcing high standards for quality, reliability, and security in deployed machine learning solutions.
  • Work cross-functionally with business, product, data science, front-end engineering, and data engineering teams to ensure alignment and achieve business goals.
  • Effectively communicate technical work to senior/executive leaders in both technical and non-technical settings.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AI/ML technologies and trend - acting as a thought leader for ML Engineering within the organization and in the broader technical community.
  • Mentor junior team members by providing guidance and support to achieve their full potential and improve team efficiency.

What You'll Bring

  • Deep knowledge and experience in building complex, large-scale, mission-critical machine learning applications with microservice architecture in Kubernetes.
  • Proven programming skills using standard ML tools such as Python, Tensorflow, Py Torch, CUDA, and related framework and libraries.
  • Highly resourceful and methodical in solution/architecture/API/codebase design and ability to translate product requirement into engineering blueprint.
  • Experience with common ML model serving framework, especially for NLP models/applications. Familiarity with Gen AI/LLMs and related tooling ecosystem a plus.
  • Experience developing and maintaining ML engineering processes and best practices, including code reviews, automated testing, performance optimization, and model monitoring.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to synthesize requirements across multiple domains and influence stakeholders/peer teams for strategic alignment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to approach problems in a logical and systematic manner.

Minimum Qualifications

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
