Software Engineer III

Design, develop, and support "Promise and Sourcing Engine" for multiple tenants of Walmart. Develop complex and scalable software features that calculate delivery dates accurately across all front-end pages on Walmart site. Develop sourcing solutions that adhere to the promised dates to customer. Design and develop optimization solutions that help reduce shipment costs to Walmart. Optimize and scale existing features to meet the rising customer demand. Setup monitoring and alerting system to monitor infrastructure running software for the complete Promise and Sourcing platform. Debug, analyze, and fix performance degradation issues as and when they appear. Maintain the automated software test suite for all new software features and enhancements. Lead new feature software development projects from investigation to design to production implementation and maintenance. Provide operational support for special sale events including console events and holiday events.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.

What you'll bring: Experience developing back-end applications using object-oriented programming languages including Python and Java. Experience using data storage technologies including MySQL, Cassandra and Cosmos. Experience with development tools including Eclipse and IntelliJ. Experience with code version tool GitHub. Experience working on data stream technology Kafka. Experience with Scrum methodology. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.
