Manager, Automation Engineering

The Manager, Automation Engineering is a role within the Walmart Fleet Services team focusing on sustainable transportation and will help lead the transition of the Walmart fleet to zero emissions. The role is based in Bentonville, AR. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Sustainable Transportation and will require up to 25% travel.

What You'll Do...

The Manager, Automation Engineering will:

• Have zero emissions, sustainable transportation and/or alternate fuel vehicle experience.
• Bring transportation and logistics industry experience – class 8 vehicles, maintenance, design.
• Have data analytics/storytelling and dashboard creation experience (Power BI/Tableau).
• Be interested in unleashing the power of AI to accelerate business impact.
• Have fleet regulatory compliance experience.
• Bring program/project management experience.
• Have experience with overall equipment efficiency, total productive maintenance or total cost of ownership.
• Have manufacturing industry experience – operational leadership and root cause analysis.
• Have lean and six sigma experience – data driven, value stream analysis and improvement.
• Be passionate about continuous improvement, operational excellence and zero loss.

• Defining vision and strategies for alternate fuel vehicle technologies using internal and external requirements, identifying market opportunities, building business cases, and approving objectives.
• Leading in design and development of progressing alternate fuel vehicle technologies.
• Establishing, influencing, and managing high-visibility key supplier relationships.
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 2 years’ experience in engineering, supply chain, or related area OR 4 years’ experience in engineering, supply chain, or related area.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 2 years’ experience in engineering, supply chain, or related area. Option 2: 4 years’ experience in engineering, supply chain, or related area.

Preferred Qualifications...

Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
