A Self-Checkout Attendant assists customers in the processing of transactions through the self-service area(s) and provides exceptional customer service in order to ensure a positive shopping experience and drive customer loyalty, while maintaining exemplary customer service by adhering to the Basic Beliefs and values of Walmart.
1. Keep the self-checkout area organized, clean, and free from unwanted displays, debris, objects, or liquids. 2. Promote company programs such as credit card services, product protection, and charitable organizations. 3. Observe customer activities to determine if they need assistance. 4. When interventions and quality checks are required, politely explain the reasons and reassure the customer positively, stating that periodic interventions and quality checks are a normal protocol for self-checkouts. 5. Demonstrate knowledge of responses to SEA system alarms and complete the "Demagnetization Failure" log. 6. Communicate with the customer service manager when there is little money left in a cash register or for technical issues. 7. Return the Scan and Pay readers to the kiosks after use.
