Engineering Manager, Software Development

About the opportunity:

• Work with cross-functional stakeholders across the company, align with product and organizational objectives to deliver key results of new product initiatives

• Define system architecture and technical roadmap for key product components

• Develop scalable and performant products, give code review and technical feedback as a hands-on technical leader

• Attract, grow and retain the diverse engineering talents, providing technical direction and career growth guidance and opportunities

• Contribute across the entire product and technology stack, as well as collectively oversee the integrity of the codebase

Minimum qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Computer Science or related discipline

• 2+ years experience as a tech lead of a software engineering team

• 5+ years of full-time software development experience

• Solid understanding of performance implications and scalability of code

• Experience with large, complex codebases and know how to maintain them

• Proficient with modern web application development with knowledge of JS ecosystems and open source web frameworks is a plus (e.g. NodeJS / React / GraphQL / PostgreSQL / Redshift / Redis / Kubernetes)

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience leading a mobile or product engineering team

• Keenness for writing good, meaningful tests and maintaining thorough test coverage

• Knowledge of good practices, preferred design patterns, and writing idiomatic Javascript code
