Clinical Director

The Clinical Director provides overall clinical leadership and supervision for the residential treatment program at JCCA, serving youth in foster care. This role oversees all clinical services on campus, including the Center for Healing Sexually Abused and Exploited Children, a specialized program dedicated to identifying and treating youth impacted by trauma. The Clinical Director supervises a team of clinicians, including the Licensed Behavior Support Specialist, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care that meets the unique needs of each youth. This position requires a strong understanding of relevant regulations, including OMH, Medicaid, and OCFS compliance, and a commitment to creating a safe, therapeutic, and developmentally supportive environment for youth in care.

Program Development & Implementation

  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine clinical programs and services that align with best practices, agency mission, and regulatory requirements (OMH, Medicaid, OCFS).
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., education, recreation, residential) to ensure seamless service delivery and a holistic approach to youth care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including community agencies, schools, and families.
  • Stay abreast of current research and best practices in child and adolescent mental health, trauma-informed care, and youth development.
  • Ensure program compliance with all relevant regulations, licensing standards, and accreditation requirements.

Clinical Leadership & Supervision

  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to a team of clinicians, including the Licensed Behavior Support Specialist.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized treatment plans for all residents.
  • Monitor clinical documentation, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to clinicians.
  • Address clinical concerns and challenges promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix to meet the needs of the resident population.

Training & Education

  • Develop and implement training programs for staff on topics such as trauma-informed care, child development, therapeutic interventions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct staff in-services and workshops to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the clinical team.

Financial Oversight & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Finance Department to develop and manage the clinical department budget.
  • Monitor program expenditures and ensure efficient and effective utilization of resources.
  • Participate in budget planning and forecasting processes.
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance Department to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement for clinical services.

Clinical Practice

  • Participate in clinical rounds, case conferences, and treatment team meetings.
  • Provide clinical consultation and expertise to other departments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Psychology or related field; or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); or equivalent graduate degree and commensurate experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a management capacity and in the field of child and adolescent mental health.
  • Extensive knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulations, including OMH, Medicaid, and OCFS regulations.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, assessment, and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and mentorship skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in a residential treatment setting for youth in foster care.
  • Knowledge of various evidence-based models for treating trauma, such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
  • Experience with quality improvement initiatives and data analysis.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish

Salary: $90k-$100K
