Your Impact
The engineer would fulfill the role of Principal Marine Structural Engineer. Exhibiting excellent technical skills and team participation to help drive projects toward successful completion. Expansion of the role will include developing focus client relationship management through the life cycle of projects, to enable ongoing growth of Ports & Maritime business across the region.
The key responsibilities include:
- Delivering engineering consultancy services as a technical leader to achieve high client satisfaction
- Work package management for marine structural analysis and design including:
- Data gathering and interpretation
- FE modelling (StaadPro or similar)
- Calculations
- Design drawings
- Technical report writing
- Specifications for construction
- Construction quantities and cost estimates
- Planning and scheduling
- Identifying and securing follow on opportunities through the quality and value of our engineering and client services
- Providing technical leadership and review of engineering consultancy services, within own area of competency
The secondary responsibilities include:
- Understanding Jacobs' market position and goals in Malaysia and the wider Southeast Asia region
- Developing focus client relationship management through the life cycle of projects; working with Technical Director and Team Leader to pursue opportunities from first spark, to award of contract, to successful project completion
- Working with wider regional Sales and Operations teams to help identify market triggers, drivers and opportunities
- Detailed discussions to scope out client's requirements and expectations through effective listening, summarizing and questioning
- Preparing of compelling proposals and presentations for engineering consultancy services

Here's What You'll Need
The minimum qualifications for this position include:
- Professional Engineer e.g. PE or Chartered Engineer
- Relevant degree in Civil or Coastal Engineering or similar associated subject
- More than 15 years' experience
- In-depth capability in marine structural engineering and awareness of own limitations
- Familiarity with all areas of coastal, maritime, and wider civil engineering practice and infrastructure development
- Experience in the feasibility, planning, investigations, modelling, design, and construction of coastal engineering projects
