Jacobs Auckland Transport Structures (TS) team is growing, and we're looking for a Senior Bridge Engineer to help deliver some of New Zealand's and Australia's most exciting infrastructure projects.

You'll be part of a close-knit, high-performing team of engineers and modellers working on major transport programs such as the Eastern Busway, Takanini Level Crossings, State Highway 22, and contributing to projects like Torrens to Darlington in Adelaide and Northeast Link in Melbourne as part of a wider ANZ design team. These projects span both public and private sectors, offering exposure to complex transport infrastructure and opportunities to grow your technical expertise and professional development.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, brings a passion for bridge and civil infrastructure design, and is ready to contribute to technically challenging and meaningful work.

What You'll Be Doing

• Undertake bridge and civil structural design across all project phases from concept to detailed design across various markets including Transport, Water, Energy & Power, and Marine infrastructure.
• Work closely with our experienced team of technical modellers who handle 3D modelling and drawing production
• Deliver high-quality design outputs, with peer review and oversight from Senior/Principal Engineers
• Participate in site inspections and construction support during physical works (approx. 20% fieldwork)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across New Zealand and Australia
• Support junior engineers with mentoring and guidance
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure design solutions meet project needs
• Contribute to seismic and structural design discussions, and learning from experienced specialists in the team

Here's What You'll Need

• A degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (BEng, MEng, etc.)
• Chartered (CPEngNZ) or close to submitting application
• ~6 to 12 years of experience in bridge design, ideally within New Zealand and having a good understanding of the NZTA Bridge Manual and supporting documents
• Strong technical skills in structural analysis and design
• Familiarity with seismic design principles and standards
• Ability to work collaboratively with modellers, engineers, and project managers
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to contribute to a supportive culture
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Flexibility and openness to new ways of working
