Your impact
At Jacobs, we deliver innovative solutions for advanced facilities and mission-critical environments. As a Mechanical HVAC Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and coordinating HVAC systems for electronics and mission critical projects. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with international standards and deliver efficient, sustainable designs.
Your responsibilities
Design HVAC systems for electronics facilities and Data center projects, including process exhausts, cooling, and heating water systems.
Prepare and review 2D drawings and 3D models, ensuring QA/QC compliance and accuracy.
Develop performance-based specifications for mechanical equipment such as AHUs, pumps, fans, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, scrubbers, and VOC abatement units.
Review contractor submittals to ensure alignment with design intent and specifications.
Participate in client meetings and address design review comments promptly.
Propose innovative design solutions and manage design change control processes effectively.
Here's what you'll need
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and hold a PRC professional license.
Significant experience delivering electronics and Data Centre HVAC projects, including cleanroom design concepts.
Proficiency in software tools: Revit, Navisworks, AP3D, AutoCAD; familiarity with heat load and pressure loss calculation tools is a plus.
Strong understanding of U.S. and international building codes and related standards. Familiarity with Australian standards is considered an advantage.
Comprehensive operational knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems for general buildings.
Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating strong communication and leadership skills, along with extensive experience in managing QA/QC processes.
