About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Student Service & Digital Resource Librarian to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your professional skills to support the Ivy Tech Indianapolis Library by providing one-on-one research and technology assistance, facilitating library instruction, creating and maintaining accurate catalog records, and coordinating maintenance of the library's website. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of modeling library research processes, championing customer service experiences across multiple modalities, cataloging library resources, and a passion for delivering outstanding results in a dynamic environment. This position will also serve as a liaison between the library and several designated academic departments.
Major Responsibilities:

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Education & Experience:
A MLS or MLIS degree is required. Additionally, we need candidates who can demonstrate the practical skills and experience necessary to excel in this role. A proven track record of providing strong customer service through reference and technology support, as well as cataloging experience will be prioritized.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Technical Skills: Proficiency in original and copy cataloging practices, with experience creating/maintaining accurate bibliographic records. Proficiency in best practices for reference interviews, demonstrated live one-on-one and through written email. Proficiency with computer and web applications on various devices, including Windows PCs, MacBooks, and Google Chromebooks. Proficiency with Microsoft and Google Suites, Zoom, and email and chat applications.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify and prioritize patterns, and provide data-driven solutions.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly to diverse audiences, provide non-judgmental feedback, and build positive rapport with others.
Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically, make decisions independently, and solve complex problems in a timely manner.
Teamwork: Proven experience in collaborating effectively with diverse teams to achieve common goals.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and track progress in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience in a public-facing library role, customer service, or similar environments.
Familiarity and/or experience with SirsiDynix's LMS, WorkFlows, and the Springshare LibApps suite.
Familiarity and/or experience with using WorldCat to process ILL requests.
Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude of approachability and adaptability.
