This internship will be project based with main location at South Bend, IN with opportunities in Elkhart as well. Although duties will vary, the School of Business, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, and Information Technology team is looking for a student who will complete typical duties of the position. Assist Faculty Advisors in initiating contact with students related to barriers to success. Deliver effective customer service fielding when assisting faculty in answering student questions related to enrollment and enrollment barriers. Perform other assigned duties, including but not limited to being student ambassador on and off campus, data entry, and receptionist duties.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop knowledge of Ivy Tech resources for students. • Cover front desk, answer phones, and perform data entry as needed. • Assist faculty in student recruitment activities by acting as a student ambassador. • Assist faculty advisors in their work contacting students who may need help with registration or other concerns by phone call, text, email, or Zoom meeting. • Help eliminate any barriers a student might experience in accessing resources by initiating the contact or resolving the issue for the student, when possible, under the direction of a faculty advisor.
General Qualifications: • Completed FAFSA on file demonstrating financial need. • High School Diploma or G.E.D. • Be able to communicate well orally and work well with diverse student populations • Maintain a minimum of 6 credit hours of enrollment in eligible courses • Maintain an aid-eligible Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status • Student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater. • Projects positive image for Ivy Tech Community College. • Display a professional appearance and demeanor. • Must be dependable, responsible and organized. • Must work cooperatively with others and accept direction from supervisors. • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). • Must be able to practice confidentiality in all aspects of work. • Must have excellent customer service skills. • Confidentiality must be maintained and followed along with FERPA regulations. • Performs other duties as assigned.
