Sales Representative Position

Role Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Representative to join our team in China. In this position you will be responsible for the sales promotion of Japanese genuine spare parts to Shipowners and Ship managers, as well as promotion of Japanese equipment to Ship builders. You will also establish stable and long-term relationship with our customers to achieve the target of Marine Machinery Department in ISS Machinery Services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Activities as an agent of makers:

  • Create the bridge between Makers and customers.
  • Find opportunity of business for new ship buildings.
  • Set up web meetings between China and Japan.
  • Promotion of new products as well as established ones.
  • Develop and break down sales targets in alignment with the company's strategy.
  • Maintain and develop key customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Manage the sales budget to ensure cost-effectiveness of sales activities.

Activities according to the request from the Osaka head office:

  • Follow-ups/negotiation for bulky quotations.
  • Dunning works.
  • Approach to new customers.

Other activities:

  • Obtain local intelligence from customers and feedback to Osaka to enhance business.
  • Sales visit for promotion to neighboring cities.
  • Find potential customers based on instructions from Osaka.

Who You Are

  • Work experience in similar position in Marine industry.
  • In possession of a certain number of customers already relevant to marine industry especially domestic ones.
  • Proof of data showing previous performance.
  • Maritime field industry knowledge in Marine industry.
  • Technical knowledge at a basic level.
  • Knowing basic knowledge of marine spares and actual needs of target market.
  • International trading knowledge.
  • Understanding culture of Chinese Customers deeply and profoundly.
  • Administrative skills such as excel to an intermediate level.
  • Self-motivating and self-driving skill.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel to neighboring cities extensively, when necessary.
  • Fluent English speaking/writing ability.
  • Hold a valid driving license to commute and visit customers.
