Graduate Student Services Specialist II

The College of Health and Human Sciences (CHHS) School of Education (SOE) is seeking applications for a Graduate Student Services Specialist II. This position provides admissions support, program management, and student services for current and prospective graduate students.

The Graduate Student Services Specialist supports graduate programs and students throughout the entire lifecycle—from recruitment and admissions, through academic milestones, to program completion. The role involves one-on-one student support, day-to-day administration of multiple graduate programs, and coordination with the Graduate College, Graduate Admissions, other Graduate Support Specialists across CHHS, and SOE faculty and staff. The position manages records, runs reports, supports course scheduling logistics, and contributes to program events and student programming.

The Graduate Student Services Specialist II plays a vital role in ensuring a positive student experience from initial inquiry through program completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support admissions processes from the inquiry stage through final decisions.
  • May meet with students on a variety of student issues and refer students to other resources as needed.
  • May recruit potential graduate candidates.
  • Manage projects and data including data entry, running reports, and database management.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

• Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals

• Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues

• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems

• Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests

• May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff

• May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity

• Provides guidance to students
