The OCI Infrastructure Engineering Org focused on Datacenter Automation is building services and tools to accelerate the process by which OCI grows its compute and network capacity. We are looking for Principal software engineers who are ready to tackle new challenges in designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and scalable services for managing physical assets throughout their lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Principal software engineers will:

  • Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable services for managing physical assets throughout their lifecycle.
  • Integrate with existing systems through well-established contracts.

Principal software engineers should:

  • Be a lead cloud engineer with a proven track record of delivering high-scale, high-impact solutions.
  • Be obsessed with the customer, always exceeding expectations.
  • Have excellent communication skills and drive complex technical concepts.
  • Be a disciplined engineer who understands the importance of high standards and constantly strives for excellence.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity in a chaotic and fluid environment.
  • Be passionate about technology and not afraid to defend opinions or position with peers/superiors.

Minimum Qualifications:

Principal software engineers should:

  • Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment and lead peers and Jr/Sr Engineers.
  • Have a strong grasp of computer science concepts (data structures, algorithms, and programming paradigms).
  • Be proficient in Java or Python.
  • Have experience building highly available services, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols.
  • Have experience with production operations and best practices for putting quality code in production and troubleshooting issues when they arise.
  • Effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Principal software engineers should:

  • Have experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have experience building control plane/data plane solutions for cloud native companies.
  • Have experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving performance issues in complex environments.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only. US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
