Human Services Quality Assurance Coordinator

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Woodward Resource Center (WRC) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Human Services Quality Assurance Coordinator (HSQAC) to join our team! This is a full-time position with a non-fixed, variable schedule. Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities? What You'll Do

  • Team Collaboration: In collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent for Habilitation Services, ensure appropriate training and technical assistance for development & implementation of ISPs, ITPs, and provide Quality Assurance oversight.
  • Review and technical assistance for Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) ID waiver program and provide quality assurance oversight for the individual planning process.
  • Develop and Train: Develop plans to train, encourage, and support the IDT to utilize a person-centered approach to the individual planning process, ensuring that plans are developed for and with the individual. Implement processes and systems for personal outcome measures to review person-centered services, determine gaps, and recommend changes for WRC to maintain professional standards of best practice.
  • Monitor: Evaluate Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) processes on a regular basis. Report any concerns and issues along with recommendations for improvement to the respective Treatment Program Administrator (TPA) and Assistant Superintendent.

Key Competencies Successful candidates for this position will demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Knowledge: Understand quality assurance compliance with regulations and standards identified in reviews by the Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing, Life Safety Inspections, and Iowa Medicaid Enterprise Level of Care reviews.
  • Assessment and Implementation: Read, understand, and implement detailed written and/or oral instructions, policies, methods, and procedures.
  • Relationship Building: Work as a part of the Habilitation Services team to develop and implement various procedures and practices using best practice standards.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and experience equal to two years of fulltime work experience in quality assurance, quality improvement, or total quality management; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education substituting one year of the required experience for each 30 semester hours or one year of the required education to a maximum of four years.
