Wages: $17.69/hr. Current employees with seniority in the bargaining unit: refer to the Salary Schedule established by the applicable bargaining unit.
Assist students with personal hygiene, nutrition, comfort, and safety issues.
Provide general/emergent care to students as directed by the Registered Nurse and building administration.
Prepare and administer medication as directed by the student's physician.
Monitor students for allergic reactions and follow individual health care plans or district procedures.
Respond to health-related phone calls and parent questions.
Monitor and check for head lice when required.
Prepare and monitor health records.
Maintain daily nursing office visits in Infinite Campus.
Maintain regular communication with the building nurse.
Correspond with parents when appropriate.
Complete staff/student injury forms as needed.
Perform other service or clerical duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse or school administrator(s).
Maintain daily Med Administration in Infinite Campus.
Must be willing to attend trainings and complete trainings to assume the duties and responsibilities of the position yearly.
Additional duties and responsibilities may include: catheterization, tube feeding, use of electronic blood pressure equipment, use of a pulse oximeter, use of a peak flow meter, and provide care to students needing medication such as diastat, intranasal versed, glucagon, insulin, and epi-pen.
Must hold the Infant/Child/Adult CPR certificate prior to start date and remain current.
Must hold a Mandatory Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Reporter Certificate prior to start date and remain current.
Per DHS Guidelines this Children's Village position requires a background check every two (2) years, FBI fingerprinting check every four (4) years, and completed Physical every three (3) years.
Must complete the required DHS training hours each year.
Must complete Universal Precaution and Exposure Training prior to start date and remain current.
Must be willing to complete the training and obtain the Medication Administration Certificate and remain current.
Must be willing to work with a diverse population and treat all with dignity and respect.

Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
Must be willing to support and implement Davenport's multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS).
Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.
Must be able to lift, pull, push 50 lbs.
Must be able to physically sit, stoop, bend, reach, and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to see and feel for the purpose of adequate student review.
Must be able to ambulate stairs.
Must possess a valid driver's license and a reliable car.
Ability to work collaboratively with nurse and staff.
