Qualifications
Able to lift materials weighting up to 30 pounds.
Operate all kitchen equipment.
Be able to work in a standing position for prolonged periods.
Able to work in warm and cold surroundings.
Working knowledge or computers preferred.
Reports To
Head Cook and Food Service Director
Supervises
No one.
Position Goal
To prepare and serve a nutritious meal, that is tasty and appealing. To create a pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria and educate students about nutrition.
Performance Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and serving daily breakfast and lunch meals.
- Operate all kitchen equipment such as dishwasher, slicers, mixers, ovens and other kitchen equipment as needed.
- Must follow safety and sanitation procedures including wearing heairnet and disposable gloves.
- Assist in cleaning and storing utensils, dishes, trays, pans and other kitchen equipment.
- Operate a cash register, enter transactions and make change if necessary.
- Be very safety conscious and practice safety precautions at all times.
- Know the basics of USDA Food Service Requirements.
- Assist with unloading of food trucks and store food properly.
- Have a good working relationship with all other persons.
- Stock and restock quick serve food items.
- Move and arrange cafeteria tables as needed.
- Dispose of trash daily.
- May wash laundry.
- Work with teachers in education of students about nutrition.
- Work with Head Cook and Food Service Director as needed.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Responsible for cleaning/wiping down lunch tables after each line.
- Assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head Cook/Food Service Director.
Terms Of Employment
Work year established by the Board of Education. Pay rate and other benefits as per the negotiated contract.
Evaluation
An annual evaluation will be conducted by the Food Service Director. Evaluation procedure shall follow the Clarke Community School District board policy 411.7.
