LSI announces a gratifying opportunity for a part-time Family Support Specialist for our Early Childhood program in counties such as Dallas, Warren, Adair, and Madison. As one of Iowa's most trusted human services agencies, LSI has a legacy of serving children and families for more than 160 years. Our Early Childhood Services provide critical care, guidance, and education to parents of young children across the state. Whether we're meeting with families through in-home weekly visits, connecting them to local resources in their community, or hosting support groups for parents to bond, this team makes a direct impact on the lives of the Iowans we are privileged to serve. Family Support Specialists offer home visits to expectant parents and caregivers of small children, providing parenting education, support, and advocacy. Family Support Specialists link parents to resources, promote optimal child health and development, and problem solve with parents. Family needs and abilities are evaluated on an ongoing basis. Family Support Specialists assist families in designing individualized support plans and empower families overtime to achieve their chosen goals. Our home visitation program is part of a nationwide initiative designed to empower families to become and remain healthy and strong.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in health or human service-related field or education. Required: Associates degree in health and human service-related field or education and 2 years of experience.
