The Office of the Provost provides academic leadership for Drake University. Reporting to the President, the Provost oversees all academic programs, including six colleges and schools, faculty hiring, development, promotion, and tenure; enrollment management and admissions; student life; equity and inclusion; the libraries; student success and retention; accreditation, institutional research, and assessment; research, grants, and contracts; online education; and international and global education.
The Academic Support Specialist position in the Office of the Provost plays a key role in the administration of this office! The individual in this position manages the Provost's calendar, handles communications using a variety of medians, and schedules events and meetings. Other responsibilities include updating websites, coordinating projects with academic units, purchasing supplies, making travel arrangements, recording meeting minutes, and assisting with faculty hire paperwork and files.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree and/or 2 years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in higher education. Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. Experience in administrative support role. Experience planning events.
