Endoluminal Product Marketing Manager, Japan

The Endoluminal Product Marketing Manager, Japan will lead the development, implementation, and management of new and existing Endoluminal products in the Japanese market. This role is responsible for driving product adoption, optimizing portfolio performance, and identifying opportunities to maximize clinical and commercial value. The manager will work closely with regional sales and global marketing teams to tailor product positioning, messaging, and launch plans to local Japanese market needs. The ideal candidate combines a deep understanding of the interventional pulmonary and thoracic surgery landscape in Japan with strong strategic, analytical, and cross-functional leadership skills. This role requires significant collaboration with global partners, APAC regional partners, and many functions within the Intuitive Japan team.

Key Objectives:

  • Plan and implement new product launch plans
  • Control new product introduction process with internal and external business partners
  • Manage Product End of Life to optimize product-generations in the Japanese market
  • Plan and execute down-stream marketing programs to increase market share
  • Support sales organization by providing a comprehensive marketing toolkit to drive rapid adoption of the technology

New Product Launch:

  • Manage/coordinate cross-functional launch preparative activities and schedule
  • Document control related to new product launch
  • Manage the marketing budget for assigned new product lines
  • Research/analyse industry trends, customer-needs, scientific developments and competitive status
  • Develop localized product positioning and value propositions for the products to be marketed and sold in the Japanese market
  • Formulate pricing strategy and sales forecast to meet product/procedure revenue and profitability goals
  • Develop localized marketing materials in collaboration with internal and external business partners
  • Conduct pre-market clinical evaluation with KOL physicians
  • Develop and implement launch initiatives and events
  • Support new product training to the commercial team

Product Lifecycle Management:

  • Formulate and implement a localized product-mix strategy for the Japanese market in collaboration with internal and external business partners
  • Monitor and analyse post-launch sales trend and take lead of corrective actions
  • Gather VOC and make reports to appropriate internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyse product line performance from both a quantitative and qualitative standpoint to determine plan for discontinuation

Support to Sales Organization:

  • Continuously share updated product knowledge to the commercial team
  • Develop effective selling-support materials for assigned product lines
  • Implement joint field visit to support product-detailing and demonstrations/in-services

Qualifications:

  • College degree, graduate degree desired
  • 5+ years' marketing experience, including at least 3 years of product marketing experience in the medical device industry
  • Proven ability to effectively position and message product/procedure and develop strong sales support to drive product/procedure adoption
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and group presentation skills in both English and Japanese
  • Good planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Interpersonal skills to work across multiple constituents and work effectively with internal and external business partners
  • Good analytical and process skills
  • Must be well versed in MS Office Suite
