Are you an experienced leader who is passionate about digital solutions and cross-disciplinary product development? We are looking for a leader to join our new Product and Engineering department. Here you will drive our product owners, developers, and testers forward, and play a key role in our digital transformation. You will be part of an ambitious technology environment with high competence, great heights, and the opportunity to influence both the direction and how we work with technology.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Lead and develop the Product and Engineering department with personal responsibility for product owners, testers, and developers.
• Further develop the areas within the department in line with best practices.
• Ensure that we build digital products in line with our business goals.
• Prioritize technical debt, innovation, and functionality in a balanced way.
• Facilitate our delivery teams to deliver on our transformation agenda and contribute to operations through competence and capacity planning, harmonization of work sets, and supplier management.
• Ensure good processes and smooth cross-departmental collaboration.
• Create a good engineering culture with a focus on quality, continuous learning, and efficiency.

As Head of Product and Engineering, you will report to the IT Director.

Who are you?

• You have been a technologist and led technologists.
• You have worked closely with and/or led product owners and testers.
• You thrive in working independently, structured, and goal-oriented.
• You build strong and self-driven teams, set clear direction, and drive change with enthusiasm.
• You have experience from larger corporations with a distributed IT organization, and are familiar with collaborating across cultures and disciplines to ensure good deliveries.
• You have experience with supplier and partner management, and the ability to create good collaborative relationships that provide value.
• You have experience with deliveries in nearshore and offshore setups, and know how to build good collaborative forms across geography and culture.
• You communicate clearly and effectively – both in Norwegian (or other Scandinavian languages) and English – and are able to make complex messages understandable for different levels in the organization.
• You create trust through good mediation and dialogue, and are motivated by contributing to development and growth.
• Experience from banking, finance, or insurance is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Technological competence and methodical understanding:

• You have a strong understanding of digital product development and technology, and the ability to translate this into value for both users and the company.
• You have good knowledge of agile methods and product management, such as Scrum, Kanban, and OKR, and know how to use these effectively in practice.
• You have good knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, and various testing tools.
• You have an understanding of architecture, DevOps, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or similar – and see the value of technology choices that support scalability and quality.
