Our German partner Virtual Minds Group is a part of the biggest German media house Pro7Sat1. They are a leading European provider of high-quality technology solutions for automated, data-based digital marketing across all channels from a central enterprise platform. The modularly expandable platform provides all market participants – advertisers, agencies, and publishers/marketers – with individual, tailor-made solutions to achieve maximum marketing efficiency and to make the respective key assets in online marketing future-proof.

Together with our partner, we're expanding a team in Belgrade that will be fully integrated with the German-based team. We are looking for a:

Senior Data Engineer

to join a cross-functional and dynamic team that will bring the ADEX platform quality to another level of excellence.

Your responsibilities:

• Developing a cross-device data management platform technology that aggregates, segments, and analyzes data from different data sources and making it available to more than fifty connected partner systems
• Working with stakeholders to grow the amount and kinds of customer-defined targetings we can calculate in real-time
• Developing new features for our in-house streaming key/value DBs
• Improving resource utilization across all stages of our data pipelines, from validation and ingestion to storage to dynamic queries

Your profile:

• You have strong experience designing, building, implementing, and maintaining large real-time data pipelines with Kafka and Kafka Streams.
• You have significant expertise with data consistency, throughput, and event-driven system concepts.
• You are fluent in Python and/or Java.
• You are familiar with designing and deploying data jobs.
• You have experience with managing and monitoring service infrastructure and deployments.
• You have worked with Kafka, Kafka Streams, Trino (or any distributed SQL engine), Airflow, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Jenkins, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch.
• Nice to have: Basic knowledge of AWS services such as S3 and RDS, and Terraform.
• You have strong communication skills and thrive as a team player.
