The Senior Tool & Die Engineer has overall responsibility for the control of all tooling/dies in the Stamping Department (design, development, maintenance, repair & utilization).
Confers with company officials to plan business objectives, develop tooling strategies, and coordinate design & development of tooling with suppliers.
Reviews tooling records to determine overall tooling utilization & efficiencies vs. the plan and analyzes data to ensure goals and objectives are set & met.
Directs and coordinates programs to determine funding for new tooling.
Carries out duties in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Remain current on saving opportunities and take full advantage of applicable programs.
Ensure inventory control and purchase processes are in place and operating properly.
Help resolve customer and team issues.
Perform special projects as assigned.
Evaluate job performance of subordinates.
Mentor team members and maintain order and discipline among associates.
Requirements:
Ten years relevant professional experience in manufacturing industry (stamping operations & die maintenance).
Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills.
5+ years of demonstrated supervisory experience in similar capacity (Tool & Die design & maintenance).
Strong management and organizational skills.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
Experience in cost analysis & negotiation of tool & die cost & purchase.
