Housekeeper
This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. Essential functions include cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas using department cleaning procedures, using cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards, understanding procedures and disposing of infectious waste and trash properly, handling and cleaning up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards, following all infection prevention practices, and maintaining work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department
- Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience (Preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs
- Frequent interactions with customers require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
