Objective of the Role:

Responsible for the development and production of conceptual, basic, detail, or land engineering, through specialized knowledge in mineral processing ensuring the safety and a high standard of quality in the deliverables of the discipline in accordance with the criteria, standards, and design norms.

Main Responsibilities:

• The senior process engineer is responsible for leading the development of design criteria for concentrator plants, with a comprehensive approach based on advanced data analysis and the application of geometallurgical concepts. He has extensive experience in the design of comminution equipment and circuits, ensuring adequate adaptation to the mineralogical variability of the deposit. He also has deep knowledge in the design and evaluation of flotation, filtration, and thickening circuits, both for concentrate and tailings, integrating operational and metallurgical criteria to maximize the recovery and quality of the final product.
• His profile is complemented by technical competencies in the management and disposal of tailings, proposing sustainable and efficient solutions aligned with project objectives and best industry practices.
• Participates as an expert in the development and review of engineering from conceptual studies to detail, land, and operation engineering, depending on the scope of the project.
• Ensures and oversees compliance with safety and quality in the Design Discipline, with national, global, and client standards. When the client does not provide one, proposes to the Discipline Leader a high level of standards based on local and international norms that Worley employs.
• Provides advice and review of technical specifications and design of potential equipment and machinery manufacturers and suppliers for mineral processing, in alignment with Worley and client technical, quality, and safety standards.
• From the perspective of the Process Discipline, proposes and executes reasonable goals within deadlines for the production of Conceptual Studies, Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility Studies, Basic and Detail Engineering Designs, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and Operation Manuals; and technical/commercial proposals.
• Proposes to the Discipline Leader criteria linked to the philosophy of operation, budget, and schedule, deliverables to be presented, ensuring the correct production (non-exhaustive) of design deliverables to be presented, ensuring the correct generation (non-exhaustive) of P&IDs, PFDs, Process Control Strategies, Commissioning and Operation Plans, and the rest of the documentation agreed with the client.
• Active member during the Commissioning stages in the Instrumentation Discipline that includes System Mapping, Installation Checklist, Dry and Wet Tests, Operations Team Training, Start-up, Process Ramp-Up, Bottleneck Decompression, and Startup Problem Solving.
• Proposes and develops Value Engineering in the Value Engineering in the Process Discipline depending on the scope of the project and client needs.
• Coordinates with the rest of the disciplines, clients, vendors, and contractors in a professional and collaborative manner, seeking the success of the project.
• Responsible for the assurance and compliance with the guidelines of Worley's Quality Assurance System and the HSE System.

What You Will Bring?

Software, processes, and tools: Advanced use of Microsoft environment (Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and advanced use of Calculation Software like MetSIM, JKSimmet, with advanced knowledge in the development of dynamic simulations in concentrator plants

Specific Knowledge: The professional must have solid experience in the design, optimization, and operation of comminution circuits (crushing and grinding), flotation, thickening, filtration, and tailings management, applying metallurgical and geometallurgical criteria to maximize operational efficiency and metallurgical recovery. Additional experience in the processing of other types of metals, such as precious metals (gold, silver) or strategic metals (nickel, cobalt, lithium), will be valued as it provides a broader and more versatile vision to face technical challenges in multi-metallic or polymetallic projects. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a solid analytical capacity, advanced handling of process data and metallurgical tests, as well as experience in the definition of design criteria and technical specification of equipment for concentrator plants.

Specific Experience: Minimum 12 years of relevant professional experience, and at least 5 years in a similar role. Project Management Skills and ability to work in a global environment with a high level of pressure.

Academic Qualification, Accreditations, Training: Degree in Metallurgical Engineer, Chemical Engineer, or related Engineering, with active registration in the College of Engineers of Peru (#CIP).

Planning and Control Skills. Intermediate English Level (+)
