Unit Manager (UM)

The Unit Manager (UM) is responsible for leading and managing a team of Surety Underwriting Assistants to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, managing team performance, and fostering a collaborative environment to optimize processes and meet business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leadership and team management
• Process and efficiency improvement
• Strategic planning and project management

Qualifications:

• University degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role within the insurance or financial industry
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in presenting to and engaging with various audiences
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, attention to detail and autonomous decision making
• Experience with process improvement methodologies and tools
• Bilingual (French and English) is an important asset
• Proficiency in using various technology platforms and tools relevant to the Surety business
