HR Services Team Lead

The HR Services Team Lead is responsible for leading and supporting a team of HR Service Coordinators while actively participating in operational tasks to ensure high-quality, centralized HR services across the entire employee lifecycle—from hire to retire.
This role combines leadership and hands-on execution, refining and implementing processes that impact the employee experience, such as talent acquisition, onboarding, benefits administration, change requests, and offboarding. The Team Lead will coach and develop team members, troubleshoot issues, resolve escalations, and personally handle complex cases and transactions when needed.
Additionally, the role will drive a culture of continuous improvement, maintain data integrity, and deliver exceptional service to candidates, hiring managers, HR business partners, recruiters, and employees at all levels of the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, coach, and develop the HR Services team to ensure high performance and engagement.
- Monitor workload, allocate cases, and ensure adequate resourcing at all times.
- Track metrics and implement strategies to improve team efficiency and service quality.
- Personally manage complex or high-priority cases and transactions.
- Ensure compliance and timeliness in Hire-to-Onboard and Employee Lifecycle processes.
- Maintain data accuracy and integrity across all HR systems and processes.
- Review and approve payments to suppliers when required.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for HR operational processes and systems (Workday preferred).
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and support SOX compliance requirements.
Education and experience required:
- Bachelor's degree and administrative experience in HR or Talent Acquisition.
- 5+ years of experience in HR or TA functions.
- 3+ years of experience with HR systems (Workday preferred).
- 2+ years of experience leading teams and performing operational HR tasks.
Preferred skills and competencies include:
- Strong ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on operational work.
- Experience in a customer-focused environment with emphasis on SLAs and continuous improvement.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, Smartsheet, and Workday (a plus).
- Familiarity with LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies for process optimization.
- Excellent organizational skills, adaptability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information securely.
Physical requirements:
- This position is performed in a traditional office environment and requires regular computer use.
