A large retail company is seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead the development team through an exciting transformation: migrating from Salesforce Commerce Cloud to a modern headless ecommerce frontend built on NextJS with a Salesforce Commerce Cloud backend. This isn't just a management role—you'll be in the trenches with your team, architecting solutions and solving complex technical challenges while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. Depending on overall skills and experience the salary range for this position is from $150,000 to $170,000 per year.

What You'll Do

Leadership & Team Management:

• Lead and mentor a team of software developers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Foster a culture where everyone contributes, learns, and isn't afraid to tackle any challenge.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with product, design, and business stakeholders.
• Champion clear, direct communication across all levels of the organization.
• Support team growth through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.

Technical Leadership:

• Guide the migration strategy from Salesforce Commerce Cloud to NextJS-based headless architecture.
• Architect scalable, maintainable solutions for complex ecommerce challenges.
• Make critical technical decisions while balancing business needs and technical debt.
• Ensure code quality, security, and performance standards across the team.
• Stay current with headless commerce trends, NextJS ecosystem, and modern development practices.

Project Execution:

• Drive the headless ecommerce migration from conception to production.
• Break down complex initiatives into manageable, executable roadmaps.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the migration process.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, timelines, and success metrics.
• Jump in wherever needed—whether that's debugging code, reviewing architecture, or coordinating releases.
