Insight Global is seeking a nuclear engineer to support the core design and reload licensing for commercial nuclear power plants in the United States. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or related field. The ideal candidate will also possess 5-8+ years of related core design and neutronics experience supporting the reload licensing process for commercial nuclear power plants. This position is fully remote but would be preferred to be located in Lynchburg, VA. Key responsibilities include performing nuclear core design for commercial nuclear plant refueling processes, optimizing core configuration for maximum energy efficiency, conducting computational simulations and transient analysis using advanced modeling tools, exercising core models to extract critical data for reactor performance, collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide analytical insights supporting licensing and operational decisions, and preparing and contributing to licensing documentation for reload and refueling of reactors.
