As an Exchange Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for supporting the company's Exchange environment (including both Office 365 and on-premise systems). This engineer will be providing overnight support. The portfolio of supported features includes email, SMTP, distribution lists, and shared mailboxes. The candidate will also assist with the operation and maintenance of third-party messaging gateways and platforms such as ProofPoint, Cisco, and Mimecast. Key duties include monitoring usage statistics and system stability, managing escalated incidents, and collaborating across teams to troubleshoot and resolve service issues. The role involves maintaining the reliability and performance of messaging services, optimizing internal processes, and ensuring effective governance. The email engineer will work closely with Microsoft and third-party vendors to ensure service agreements are met and will partner with internal teams to help users make the most of available services and platforms, following established guidelines and policies. A strong focus is placed on enhancing end-user productivity through self-help resources and training.
Key roles and responsibilities include managing and coordinating changes impacting messaging and related applications, leading incident response efforts within service delivery for any incidents impacting mail and related applications, responsible for maintenance and smooth running of Exchange & related services, responsible for supporting and troubleshooting messaging issues for a large number of O365 users, responsible for change, release management, and testing associated with non-impact, operational readiness, and transition acceptance, responsibility to deliver on projects for Exchange user migrations, AD data integration with messaging platforms, responsible for communications and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders impacted or potentially impacted by service disruption, additions, changes, and/or reductions in service, responsible for information security and compliance in relation to messaging environment, responsible for managing various 3rd party E-mail security tools, maintenance and review of KB articles, documentation.
Pay rate ranges $25 - $35/hr depending on experience.
