AWS Cloud Engineer

Insight Global is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to join the global team with one of our largest locomotive/transit manufacturing clients. This team is currently in the process of expanding their Product Hub, a web-based application they have created. This Product Hub is used by internal employees, customers, suppliers, etc. and allows them access to retrieve various information related to products that the client manufactures. This application is currently live at one site, but they would like to expand into many other sites which requires some enhancements and additional support to the application. This cloud engineer will work with other team members to ensure the continuous availability, performance, security, and scalability of the Product Hub platform hosted on AWS by managing its cloud infrastructure, performing routine maintenance, and implementing improvements aligned with business and technical requirements including but not limited to instance types, right-sizing, storage volume types, backup options, etc. Other day to day responsibilities include:

• Infrastructure Management
  • Provision and manage AWS services
  • Manage cloud infrastructure changes
  • Partner with development teams to implement infrastructure solutions
• Maintenance & Upkeep
  • Apply regular OS, application, and database updates to keep systems up-to-date
  • Perform scheduled backups using AWS Backup and ensure recovery testing
• Security & Compliance
  • Partner closely with the cyber security team to ensure the security of AWS Cloud
  • Enforce IAM best practices
• CI/CD & Automation
  • Define, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to build, test, upload, and deploy code with GitLab Runner
  • Docker Images for CI/CD pipelines
  • Automate routine tasks with AWS Lambda and other tools
