We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and maintaining the backend of our application. You will work closely with other engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in backend development, architecture, and performance optimization, and is passionate about building scalable and reliable systems.

This role is open to anyone based in EMEA Time Zone.

⏰This is a full time role with a flexible schedule, you must be available every working day between 9 am and 12 pm EST.

Who We Are Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer.
• Proficiency in Ruby
• Advanced SQL knowledge (PostgreSQL)
• Experience with GraphQL API development.
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (Google Cloud).
• Comfortable with DevOps tasks and concepts or infrastructure challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong business and user understanding.
• Ability to work with and understand diverse cultures.
• Proactive in ideating and implementing product improvements.
• Bonus points if you've worked with React or React Native.

Responsibilities

•Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems using Ruby, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.

•API Development: Build and optimize our GraphQL API to support frontend applications and external integrations.

•Infrastructure & Deployment: Work with our Kubernetes infrastructure on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) to manage deployments, monitor performance, and ensure system uptime.

•Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with frontend engineers, designers, product managers, and QA to deliver well-integrated features and improvements.

•Product Enhancement: Contribute ideas and implement backend solutions that improve the user experience and support business goals.

•Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, following best practices and participating in code reviews.

•Team Contribution: Actively participate in planning, stand ups, and retrospectives, helping drive team efficiency and continuous improvement.
