As a Day Engineer, you will be responsible for providing support in achieving our production targets for both qualitative and quantitative finished products, as outlined in the production schedule. As part of the IMS team, the Day Engineer will be ensuring successful implementation of the integrated management system and upholding supervisory accountability.

This role reports to Production Manager.

What you will do:

  • Business & Growth – To lead the team managing drum-dried (DD) products. This role involves planning and scheduling DD production activities, ensuring proper sanitation, inspections, and maintenance. The incumbent will oversee equipment upkeep, conduct root cause analyses for any issues, and implement corrective actions. Preparing reports for senior management and guide production engineers in resolving operational or maintenance problems. Promoting workplace safety by following company guidelines and leading safety initiatives. Responsible for implementing and maintaining the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Agility & Innovation – Working closely with the R&D team to help develop new products for drum-dried (DD) and freeze-dried (FD) lines, conducting plant-scale trials, and calculating ingredient quantities to build accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs). The incumbent will also study starch modification processes and equipment like starch and drum dryers, recommending improvements as part of continuous improvement efforts. The incumbent will act as the production-side commissioning engineer for new equipment and expansion projects in the starch division. Regular meetings with shift engineers and plant operators will be organized to address operational issues, product quality, and process conditions.
  • Relationships & People – Supporting the implementation of the Integrated Management System (IMS) by coordinating with the Management Representative (MR). The incumbent will organize both theoretical and hands-on IMS training sessions for operators and production staff, following the approved training plan. The incumbent will ensure smooth communication by passing on instructions from senior management and sharing feedback upward. Additionally, the role includes managing internal and external audits, coordinating with auditors, and providing all necessary documentation and information as required.
  • Knowledge & Skills – The ideal candidate should be able to inspire and motivate their team to achieve shared goals. They should bring innovative thinking and adaptability to the role, embracing change with a positive attitude. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, enabling effective collaboration and communication across all levels.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 7-8 years of plant operation experience in some well-reputed chemical or food processing industry.
  • B.Sc. Engineering (Chemical) or M. Sc. Chemistry from a well-recognized university.
  • Knowledge of the implementation of fire safety and environmental control procedures.
  • Preferably having knowledge of implementation and monitoring of QMS, EMS, OHSAS, HALAL, FSMS, GMP/HACCP, etc.
  • Good knowledge of instrumentation/control and basic knowledge of DCS/PLC operation.
  • Computer and project skills with proficiency level (i.e., SAP, MS Office, Six Sigma)
  • Languages and level (English is a must for Day Engineer level and above)
