Job Summary: The Software Test Engineer Intern will work with a highly integrated team in a role with today's latest software technologies. The position will be at our Trane facility located in St. Paul/White Bear Lake, MN. No relocation is available. It is full-time (40 hours per week) work over the summer months with the possibility of continuing part-time during the school year. This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.
What you will do:
- Work with team members to translate requirements into test plans, create and execute test cases.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand organization's infrastructure and provide input into potential weaknesses.
- Participate in automation assessments, work with the team to identify the gaps in current automaton and provide solutions.
- Assist in AI testing on web applications, other cloud systems and analyze weaknesses.
- Understand and implement the AI in software test automation.
- Follow formal Test review process and communicate results effectively to the team.
- Active participation in design reviews and share design best practices.
What you will bring:
- Ideal candidate will have knowledge with some of the following:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent.
- General knowledge on AI and AWS do's and don'ts, API, and common operating systems.
- Basic understanding of web testing tools and communications protocols.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of Software Testing or Application Development
- C/C++ and Object-Oriented Software design experience.
- Knowledge of STLC (Software Test Life Cycle) fundamentals.
- Experience writing and executing test automation scripts.
- Ability to learn a variety of automation tools and technologies used in incident investigations.
- Researching latest AI/AWS technologies.
- Experience with PC application packages such as Excel, Word, Web based applications/UI and Microsoft office.
- Desire and ability to learn quickly and to contribute to the organization.
- Technical and mathematical aptitude
- HVAC equipment controls and system knowledge a plus.
- Ability to work as part of software development team.
- Ability to meet short- and long-term deadlines.
