eBook Sales Account Manager DACH

Informa is a leading academic publishing, business intelligence, knowledge, and events business, creating unique content and connectivity for customers worldwide. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a member of the FTSE 100.

Taylor & Francis is one of the world's largest publishers of high-quality, peer-reviewed scholarly journals, books, e-books, and reference works. We empower learners, thinkers and doers with trusted knowledge that advances research and enriches lives. We bring together diverse people, ideas, and opinions to validate and publish the experts, theories and truths that matter. And we've been doing this in an unbroken arc since 1798.

Our purpose is to foster human progress through knowledge. We strongly believe that this requires us to encourage and examine different ideas and voices so that any work that meets our exacting levels of quality deserves to be included in our publications. This requires open minds, the opportunity for robust debate, and the courage to defend perspectives that stand up to scrutiny, even if they conflict with our personal beliefs or values. Because that's the only way to find the best obtainable version of the truth and, ultimately, foster human progress. If you agree, then we'd love to hear from you.

Job Description

We are recruiting for a Sales Account Manager based in Germany to cover a portfolio of academic and governmental accounts in the DACH region. You will be generating new leads and maintaining existing business by developing relationships with librarians, faculty leaders and researchers. You will be covering sales of Taylor & Francis eBooks and expanding awareness of the business within a competitive trading environment.

This role is open to candidates based in Germany and is home based with travel expected within the region to Customer Onsite meetings, Conferences and occasional team meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of Sales and working closely with the DACH Strategic Account Manager, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Relationship management of a portfolio of customers, building a deep understanding of the customer, market and specific needs to provide a tailored sales service to drive the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction
  • Planning, scheduling and carrying out meetings with key individuals within institutional organizations to close business and other sales opportunities within DACH, using consultative selling techniques and offering bespoke and added value solutions to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Analyse sales figures, run reports, maintain our adoption database and communicate with colleagues in the sales, marketing and editorial departments.
  • Accurate and timely maintenance of CRM systems
  • Building and maintaining effective external and internal relationships, building an understanding of the Higher Education sales strategy across the wider business and externally where appropriate
  • Updating the Head of Sales with reporting on sales activities and bring to their attention any problems/challenges with recommendations for resolution.

Qualifications

We are seeking a dynamic individual who can excel in one of two key areas: either someone with strong consultative selling skills and a willingness to immerse themselves in the academic publishing industry, or an individual with existing knowledge, contacts, or connections within the industry who is eager to leverage their expertise to drive sales and grow their career in a commercial role. In either case, we are looking for someone with high enthusiasm, adaptability, and a passion for building relationships and delivering tailored solutions to our customers.

You will have:

  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage effectively with librarians, faculty leaders, and researchers.
  • Ideally you will have experience in consultative selling and delivering tailored solutions to customers.
  • Analytical skills for interpreting sales data and maintaining accurate CRM records.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with effective time management and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel within the region for customer meetings, conferences, and team events. Fluency in German and English (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of the academic and governmental sectors in the DACH region is advantageous.

Additional Information

Location: This is a home based role but you will need to be comfortable with a balance of approximately 25% of your time spent travelling across the DACH territory.

What we offer in return:

  • An excellent work/life balance with a fantastic, flexible working culture
  • Annual bonus scheme
  • 35 hour working per week
  • 25 days annual leave plus an extra day off for your birthday
