Position Summary

The Mobile Medical Support Team Lead will be a player-coach, providing both leadership and direct patient care. This individual will oversee and mentor Medical Assistants, LPNs, and RNs across mobile services, ensuring integration between these roles and medical providers.

This role carries a heavy emphasis on training and development. The Team Lead will serve as the primary trainer for all Medical Assistants and Nurses, responsible for onboarding, skills development, and competency checks. All new hires will train their first month on-site at the clinic rotating through each position (MA, LPN, RN) before transitioning into the mobile unit environment under this leader's supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care

  • Provide member care within the dispensary and support medical providers as needed.
  • Dispense opioid agonist medications in alignment with regulations and standards, completing documentation and maintaining inventory.
  • Perform health assessments, administer medications, and conduct evaluations (including tuberculosis testing).

Team Leadership, Training, and Mentorship

  • Act as primary trainer for MAs and Nurses, ensuring strong clinical foundations and role readiness.
  • Lead structured first-month training at the clinic, rotating new staff through each support role before moving to mobile.
  • Supervise and coach Medical Assistants, LPNs, and RNs, fostering a positive, motivational work environment.
  • Oversee daily clinical workflows, ensuring adherence to clinic policies, HIPAA, and federal/state licensing standards.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities.

Workflow Optimization and Process Improvement

  • Develop and implement improved workflows that integrate medical support roles with providers to enhance patient care on mobile units.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Administrator and Dispensary Manager to identify and address workflow gaps.
  • Ensure medical staff participate in ongoing training and compliance refreshers.

Compliance and Record Keeping

  • Maintain compliance with DEA, DOH, and all federal, state, and tribal licensing requirements.
  • Oversee accurate and timely EMR documentation to ensure patient care meets standards of practice.
  • Participate in federal and state substance abuse trainings as required.

Qualifications

Education and Licensure:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current Washington state license.
  • BLS certification, or willingness to complete within three months of hire.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a clinical setting.
  • At least 2 years in an opioid treatment program (OTP) or behavioral health setting.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience training or mentoring staff highly desired.

Skills and Characteristics:

  • Patient-centered and quality-focused, with commitment to evidence-based care.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and training abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and mobile care environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems.

Additional Information

  • Work Environment: This role involves oversight and training across mobile units, with the first month fully based on-site at the clinic. Travel to various clinics and community sites is required.
