Oncology Nurse Position

Details: Oncology Department, Schedule: 7am-3:30pm Mon-Fri; work hours are flexible, Hospital: Ascension St. Vincent Evansville, Location: 3700 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate nursing program activities and resources within clinical specialty or department.
  • Develop and oversee program, making recommendations and acting as a resource for all nursing staff related to patient care and clinical standards, policies and procedures.
  • Develop and document care plans and therapy programs.
  • Oversee and ensure plan of care therapy program is implemented as indicated.
  • Ensure necessary resources and/or equipment is obtained as ordered.
  • May supervise and direct nursing staff.
  • Coordinate, assemble, and maintain documentation as required.

Requirements:

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration:
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
    • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Education:
    • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.

Additional Preferences:

  • Oncology Nursing Experience and/or OCN highly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
