Quality Engineer - Senior - NPI

Job Title

This position is responsible for supporting manufacturing process and product quality by applying appropriate Goodyear standards and procedures to solve problems. The incumbent seeks solutions to technical problems, conducts work on assigned tasks and exhibits a significant level of knowledge and expertise. Responsibilities include:

• Supporting new product industrialization as assigned to meet company quality standards and KPIs.
• Utilizing and applying understanding of customer requirements relevant to multiple process areas.
• Representing the quality team in process councils, linking with region, design team and plant to ensure smooth technology introduction.
• Leading the application of technical solutions to meet product and process requirements.
• Accountable to drive product and process improvements within relevant quality guidelines and standards using appropriate quality engineering tools.
• Ensuring the use of current and new technology and standards in performing assigned tasks, as well as supporting innovative methods and technologies to improve.
• Applying expertise to anticipate problems and develop solutions with appropriate tools and methods that deliver defined objectives which meet business needs.

Required experience and skill/knowledge includes:

• 7 or more years' experience in new product industrialization (at plant or regional level) and/or tire design is a must (or equivalent plant/R&D experience).
• Exposure to plant/manufacturing highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and apply systematic problem-solving tools and techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and apply new tools and techniques to improve existing processes.
• Instilling positive attitudes on peers. Providing constructive feedback. Planning and leading meetings. Giving clear and concise technical guidance.

• Representing Goodyear in outside meetings. Participating in mentoring.
• Ability to travel regularly to Asia Pacific region.
