Quality Lead

The hourly range for this position is $22-27 an hour. This position is based in Indianapolis, IN. FreshRealm is looking for a Quality Lead that will be responsible leading their team while following and enforcing all safety and health standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review testing strategies to ensure the product being released is up to industry and company standards.
  • Execute testing plans, including individual testing phases, and ensure the team meets the deadlines set forth in those plans.
  • Evaluate the team throughout the life of the project to identify areas where improvement can be made.
  • Identify risk and create plans to mitigate it. QA Lead will hold regular team meetings to identify new risks as testing phases are completed and create new mitigation plans on the fly.
  • Improve the current processes to make them more efficient. When problems with processes are identified, leads communicate their new ideas to the different teams involved in the project, including engineers and marketing departments.
  • Throughout all phases of product development, QA Lead will report progress, plans, and problems to upper management and other involved parties. Request feedback from upper management and implement the suggested changes in as efficient a way as possible.

Qualifications:

  • Skills and Requirements:
    • Minimum 1-2 years of experience within a food manufacturing environment is required.
    • 1 year in similar Quality leadership role.
    • Advanced knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes, procedures and equipment.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to lead the work of other employees, assign duties and manage workflow/production for a shift or in the absence of the Department Manager.
    • Ability to work routine and monotonous processes.
    • Must have a good understanding of English, bilingual (Spanish) speaking skills a plus.
  • Experience / Education:
    • A minimum of 1 year experience working in a food manufacturing environment applying common processes, procedures and equipment. Demonstrated experience leading the work of others.
    • Experience applying and enforcing routine Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) in a chilled food environment is essential.
    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education.
