Plant Engineer

Join a global leader in specialty chemicals as a Plant Engineer, where you will play a key role in defining, organizing, planning, and executing small capital investment projects. This position demands innovative solutions and a focus on sustainability, ensuring that all activities align with accepted engineering practices, regulations, cGMP, and company policies. You will provide technical expertise to maintain and continuously improve assigned areas, minimizing costs while ensuring safe and high-quality operations.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise and services for small capital project delivery at Tippecanoe Laboratories.
• Coordinate small capital and technical change projects through design, construction, commissioning, qualification, and start-up.
• Develop scopes, manage change controls, and generate and execute system qualification packages.
• Serve as a project manager or consultant for large capital projects when necessary.
• Meet site objectives in small capital project delivery, plant engineering support, equipment reliability, and productivity projects.
• Make and influence key decisions regarding time schedule, costs, quality, and plant/area operability.
• Develop technical changes and improvements with supporting documentation.
• Maintain engineering specifications, standards, and equipment work instructions to increase equipment uptime and reduce maintenance and spare part costs.

Essential Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of experience as a plant engineer or in a similar role supporting large capex projects.
• Capability to manage a budget of $2.5M - $3M annually.
• Experience in designing and developing plant layouts.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, oil & gas, and manufacturing engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with safety instrumented systems is a plus.
• GMP experience is a plus.

This role is based in an on-site manufacturing environment, working directly within the plant. It offers opportunities for growth within the company, which is a leading manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) in the nation and the second largest in the world.

Job Type & Location:

This is a contract position based out of Lafayette, IN.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
