Senior Network Engineer

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting advanced network infrastructure solutions for our managed services clients. This role combines deep technical expertise with excellent customer service and communication skills. The engineer will lead complex networking projects, assist with escalations, create detailed network documentation, and serve as a mentor to junior team members. This position is client-facing and requires a strong mix of technical depth, professionalism, and accountability in both project and operational settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Implementation

  • Architect and deploy enterprise network solutions involving routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems, and VPNs.
  • Design complex multi-site routing topologies (BGP, OSPF, SD-WAN, VLAN segmentation, etc.).
  • Implement and support cloud-connected and hybrid infrastructures integrating Azure, Meraki, and other vendor platforms.

• Operations & Support

  • Provide Tier 3 escalation support for network incidents, outages, and performance issues.
  • Monitor and optimize existing client network environments to ensure reliability, redundancy, and security.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning and implement network redundancy strategies.

• Documentation & Diagramming

  • Create and maintain detailed Visio or Lucidchart diagrams for client sites, including topology maps, IP addressing, and VLAN documentation.
  • Update change logs, configuration backups, and client documentation in IT Glue or equivalent systems.

• Customer Engagement

  • Communicate effectively with client stakeholders and non-technical users.
  • Participate in client review meetings and present technical findings or recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the account management team to scope and deliver network projects on time and within budget.

• Innovation & Learning

  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies related to networking, SD-WAN, and data protection.
  • Assist with deployment and support of backup and disaster recovery (BDR) solutions—training provided if not already proficient.
  • Develop and document best practices for standardization across client environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred:

• Familiarity with Veeam, Datto, or Acronis backup solutions (or willingness to learn). • Experience with Azure networking (VNets, VPN Gateway, routing tables). • Certifications such as CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE, or Meraki CMNA.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Takes initiative and manages time effectively with minimal supervision. • Works collaboratively within a team environment and provides mentorship to peers. • Composed and professional under pressure with customers and vendors.

Pay and Benefits
