Metrology Engineer

This role supports the full lifecycle of gas meter development—from concept to completion—focusing on optimizing design, calibration, and compliance with industry standards. The engineer will collaborate across hardware, mechanical, and software teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory alignment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for hardware, mechanical, and software teams to optimize gas meter design and calibration.
• Maintain and improve calibration procedures and equipment selection.
• Ensure software aligns with physical meter operation and supports calibration accuracy.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities for compliance in US and international markets.
• Address customer inquiries and complaints related to meter performance.
• Support manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement in calibration workflows.

Essential Skills:

• Engineering degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mechanical, Computer Science or similar.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in natural gas or similar flow measurement.
• Full lifecycle design of flow measurement systems in air, gas, water, etc. (concept to testing).

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Familiarity with B109 standard.

Work Environment:

• The candidate will need to be onsite daily. The first few months will require travel to the Europe site to learn the gas metrology business.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Permanent position based out of Lafayette, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $110,000.00 - $135,000.00/yr. Benefits will be provided.

Workplace Type:

This is a fully onsite position in Lafayette, IN.
