Food Service Worker/Cashier

Chartwells K12 is looking for a full time and part time Food Service Worker/Cashier. The position is located at Gary Community Schools, 900 Gerry Street, Gary, IN 46406. Online applications are accepted only.

The job requires previous food service experience in a K12 environment, but training is available. The schedule is full time and part time, with days varying from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. The pay range is $13.00 to $16.00 per hour. An internal employee referral bonus is available.

The job summary includes performing cashiering duties, maintaining sanitation standards, preparing and serving food, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. The essential duties and responsibilities include prep work, carrying food, storing foods, cleaning work areas, ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety requirements, using approved food recipes, serving customers, resolving customer complaints, relaying information to supervisor, performing sales transactions, making change, issuing receipts, following procedures for cash refunds, replenishing supplies, and performing other duties as assigned.
