General Surgery Clinic Position

Schedule: Mon-Thurs 8:30am-4pm, Friday 8am-3pm (hours are flexible based on patient needs) Hospital: Ascension Medical Group, clinic Location: 2343 W. Lincoln Rd. Kokomo, IN

Prefer at least 1 year experience in medical office with a good knowledge of medical terminology. Customer friendly, computer literate, able to multi task schedule patients and answer phone. Able to work well with others and help as needed with other responsibilities.

Responsibilities: Work in a customer service capacity providing administrative and clerical support to patients and customers in a medical setting. Greet patients and visitors, check patients in and out, and obtain necessary documentation. Verify and enter demographic information. Obtain and verify insurance authorizations/precertification. Complete medical record release requests and schedule/confirm patient appointments. Enter, review and submit charges for patient procedures and services daily. Collect co-payments and reconcile all daily reports and deposits for accuracy. Provide general office and clerical support to assigned area.

Requirements: Education: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
