Immediate duties will focus on providing direct support to mechanical assembly operations for a major aerospace assembly by advising the production team, supplementing work instructions and resolving production issues through hands-on support. Over time, this Manufacturing Engineer will have a broadened scope to assist in process development, design work-stations/cells; design fixturing, jigs, gages, and tooling. Additionally, this professional may also support the launch of production programs and may advise design engineers on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and other production-related matters. Work environment will be a hybrid between office environment and industrial manufacturing floor. Manufacturing engineers should also have surface-level familiarity with Continuous Improvement / Lean manufacturing principles. An example of tasking would be as follows: Production Support Engineer may be asked to clarify print specifications or advise on a process for the production team, amend production documents, and work with the Quality team to disposition components. This engineer may also help develop tooling and fixturing as needed to facilitate assembly operations. This position may also be directly involved in Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Action development and implementation.
