A client of Insight Global is looking to hire an AV Design Engineer to join their team in the Salt Lake City area. This person will be partnering with Account Managers to attend site surveys and gather technical requirements, scope projects and develop preliminary designs. This person will also be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals, create sketches and drawings and build/maintain trust and credibility with clients through technical expertise. 70% of this role will be proposal writing and design work and the other 30% will be in meetings (mostly virtual, some site visits). Day to day tasks include: checking email and design queue, building cost estimates and proposals, occasional site surveys with Account Managers, presenting designs to clients and revising proposals.

Skills and Requirements: 5+ years in a technical AV role (programmer, AV engineer, project engineer) Must be in commercial AV Understanding pricing, cost, labor hours, and profit margins. Sketching experience (hand sketch, Bluebeam or AutoCAD, Visio) - AutoCAD is preferred Collegiate-level writing for proposals and scopes of work. Computer proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
